Rachel Lieberman is a Master’s student at NYU, pursuing an MPA in Nonprofit Management and an MA in Hebrew and Judaic Studies. Previously, Rachel was the Assistant Director at JOFA. Rachel has written and spoken on the intersection of Judaism and gender in many venues. Her essay "Blessed are You Who Has Made Me A Woman" was published in Faithfully Feminist: Jewish, Christian, and Muslim Women on Why We Stay (White Cloud Press, 2015) and her essay “Women at the Seder” was published in the Lieberman Open Orthodox Hagaddah, edited by Rabbi Shmuel Herzfeld (Gefen, 2014). Rachel graduated from Princeton University with a BA in Religion and a certificate in Judaic Studies. Her senior thesis, “Reaching Across the Mechitzah: Feminism’s Impact on Orthodox Judaism” was awarded the Isidore and Helen Sacks Memorial Prize in Religion for outstanding work in Judaic Studies. Rachel completed a certificate program in Advanced Jewish Philanthropy at Yeshiva University in May 2015. She has also studied at Yeshivat Hadar, Yeshivat Chovevei Torah, and the Pardes Institute for Jewish Studies.
