Inspired by Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues, Monologues from the Makom (lit. "place" in Hebrew, but also the most popular Talmudic euphemism for "vagina") will be an all-women's** safe space to share and listen to self-authored creative pieces about sexuality, body image, gender, and Jewish identity.

The event will showcase individual women reading or sharing their prepared monologues and creative pieces. Submissions can be in the form of "traditional" monologues OR other modalities, such as poetry, short story, visual art, or music. They also can vary in terms of content, from more conceptual/thematic to stories of specific events--there’s no censorship here, and we would love to hear anything you want to share!
This is a safe space event, and we ask that all participants come with an attitude of respect, openness, and appreciation toward our peers for being brave enough to talk about this potentially sensitive topic.
**This event is open to anyone who identifies as female, regardless of gender expression.
